Advising

Numerous resources are available to Rensselaer students for academic and career advising.

The HUB

The School of Engineering Student Advising Hub

During an engineering student’s first year, The School of Engineering Advising Hub is a fantastic resource for academic advising. The Hub is located on the third floor of the JEC building, offering appointments and walk-in hours. Hub Advisors are trained to address a variety of academic questions from all engineering majors regarding course requirements (including HASS), The Arch, Registrar protocol, and more.

Visit The Hub website for more information and to meet your advisor.

Advising & Learning Assistance Center

The Advising and Learning Assistance Center is another great resource that provides broad-ranging help to students in areas, such as Language and Culture, Study Skills, Tutoring and Learning, Pre-Health Programs, and more. Check out their advising related information.

Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD)

The Center for Career and Professional Development is a great resource to help prepare you for your career. During 30-minute appointments or daily walk-in hours, Career Counselors will meet with you to discuss co-ops and/or internships, application materials (resume, cover letter, etc.), mock interviews, utilizing your professional network, The Arch, and more!
