
The School of Engineering held its annual Faculty Awards Dinner for 2018 on April 25th at the Franklin Plaza in Troy. Engineering faculty members were honored with education, research, and team awards as well at the announcement of the Outstanding Professor of Engineering Award.
Kurt Anderson, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education presented the Classroom Excellence Award, to Prof. Ali Tajer, Electrical, Computer, and Systems.
Matt Oehlschlaeger, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs presented the Education Innovation Awards to Prof. Wei Ji, Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering and Prof. Nihat Baysal, Chemical and Biological Engineering.
The Outstanding Team Award was presented by Dean Shekhar Garde to Prof. B. Wayne Bequette, Prof. Nihat Baysal, and Faye Cameron, Research Scientist for “Closed-loop Artificial Pancreas for Individuals with Type 1 Diabetes”.
Liping Huang, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs presented the Research Excellence Awards to Prof. Daniel Gall, Materials Science and Engineering, Prof. Mariah Hahn, Biomedical Engineering, Prof. Jian Shi, Materials Science and Engineering, and Prof. Meng Wang, Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering.
The Outstanding Professor of Engineering Award was presented by Dean Shekhar Garde to Prof. Ge Wang, Biomedical Engineering.
