Stu has been an angel and venture capital investor in the internet software world for the last 20 years. He presently is Chairman of LARA AR (augmented reality systems), and additionally an investor and board member of Submitnet (search engine optimization) and TMRW Life (mobile applications for the hospitality market).
Concurrently, Stu has been very involved with Rensselaer. He was an advisor to the Incubator, where he mentored many companies including ActiveX, which was acquired by Google. He taught the Entrepreneurship course at the Lally school. Additionally, he served on the Rensselaer Alumni Association Board of Trustees for 12 years and was President 2009-2011. And served as Chairman of the 1960s Decade for the Rensselaer Annual fund.
During the 1990s, Stu was Chairman and CEO of Trend Technologies, a company he built to globally manufacture and assemble computers, servers and routers for Dell, Apple, Cisco and other high-tech companies. He sold the company in 2000.
Stu’s early experience was concentrated in the computer and electronics industries with IBM and a startup company in various sales, marketing and general manager positions.
Stu lives in Glen Cove, New York with his wife, Cheryl, and two dogs. He enjoys fishing, skiing and is a lifelong NY Mets fan.
