Kristin Ann Seaver received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and a master's in business administration from RPI in 1990 and 1998, respectively. A student athlete, she was a member of the women's basketball team as an undergraduate.
Seaver began her 26-year career with the United States Postal Service in Albany, New York, and has held positions including area manager, operations support, plant manager, and others in multiple districts across the nation. From 2013 to 2016, she served as the vice president of area operations for the Capital Metro Area, responsible for operations throughout eight postal districts along the East Coast. In 2016, Seaver was appointed chief information officer and executive vice president for the USPS, pioneering enterprise analytics, mail intelligence, information security, and engineering systems in infrastructure and payment technology.
Also in this capacity, she led the advancement of Informed Visibility (IV), which uses laser scanning and barcodes to track packages within the mail system, offering better insight to mailers and recipients and significantly changing the dynamic of the postal service industry of the 21st century.
