Dr. Charles A. Taylor received a B.S. degree (1987) in mechanical engineering and two M.S. degrees (1991, 1992) in mechanical engineering and mathematics from Rensselaer. In 1996 he received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at Stanford University.

Dr. Taylor co-founded HeartFlow Inc. in 2007, the result of pioneering work in combining computer simulation methods with medical imaging data for patient-specific modeling of blood flow to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. This work has resulted in a first of its kind noninvasive test that views a patient’s coronary arteries to see how blocked they are. Dr. Taylor now serves as the Chief Technology Officer, leading the technology development effort at HeartFlow, and serves on the board of directors. In addition, he currently serves as consulting professor of bioengineering at Stanford and as part-time professor of biomedical engineering at the Technical University of Eindhoven in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
