Troy, N.Y. – During the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute winter break, a team of 13 engineering students from the Rensselaer Engineering Ambassadors program carved out time to visit 67 classrooms at the St. Raymond Academy schools located in Bronx, N.Y., for a full day of hands-on activities and presentations in engineering.

Troy, N.Y. — The FIRST® Robotics Competition season is now underway, following the kickoff event held on Jan. 7. This year, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will once again host the New York Tech Valley Regional competition March 16-18 on the Rensselaer campus in the East Campus Athletic Village. Thirty-six teams of high school students from the Capital Region, New York state, South Carolina, Canada, India, and Turkey will participate in the competition.

Troy, N.Y. — Zvi Rusak, professor of mechanical, aerospace, and nuclear engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been named a fellow of the American Physical Society (APS). Rusak was recognized for his contributions to the field of fluid dynamics, including theoretical research that explains various complex fluid flow phenomena and informs the aerodynamic design of aircraft and turbomachinery.
Troy, N.Y. — Local residents are invited to join Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute students, faculty, staff, and alumni and alumnae for the Institute’s annual holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 18, in the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) Concert Hall. The program begins at 3 p.m.
The Holiday Concert titled: Musica de Profundis brings together a collection of music by composers searching for meaning while probing the existential depths.
